Slow-sinking hookbaits that sit over a method mix. The default commercial carp and F1 change bait when corn and pellet are ignored.
A wafer is a hookbait with buoyancy — not a pop-up, not a stone. Hair-rigged on a short method hooklength it sits in or just over the mix, easy to suck. That is why they replaced a lot of corn on UK commercials.
Match size to the fish: 8mm for F1s, 10–12mm for carp on many day-tickets. Colour is fashion; the sink rate is the fishing.

Balanced over silt
Method feeder. Bomb. Pressured carp and F1s. When they mouth and eject a sinking bait.
Year-round on commercials. Bright colours in the cold are a habit, not a law.
Hair with a quick-stop, in or on a method frame. On a bomb with a small bag of pellets.
Out of the tub, on a hair. Don't boil them.
Feeding
A small pot is a season.
Change the one on the hair when it's chewed, or when they tap and don't take.
Micros, damp pellets, a bit of corn in the mix.
Wafer over micros. Wafer and a piece of plastic corn. Wafer after a run of banded pellet.
The mix or the PVA is the feed. You don't loosefeed wafters.
A 15mm wafer on shy F1s. A two-foot hooklength. A wafer that actually pops up a foot because the hook is too light.
If they tap, try a smaller wafer or corn. If they're up, you don't need a wafer — you need a waggler.
Beginner tip
8–10mm wafer, 4 inch hair, method feeder, micros. That is the UK commercial default for a reason.
Advanced tip
Balance the hook so the bait just sinks. That's the whole product.
