A heavier cage or rocket feeder, a longer rod, and a clip at range. Reservoir bream, big pits, and a plateau you actually found.

Distance feeder is still a cage or a rocket, still a clip, still a bed — just further. You need a rod that casts, a shockleader if the rules and the load ask for it, and the honesty to practise on grass rather than in someone's swim.
It is not how you fish a 30-yard commercial island. Accuracy still beats yards.
Reservoirs, big pits, a known plateau. Bream at range. When 30 yards is not where they are.
A small commercial. A canal. Anytime you cannot hit a clip at that range — fish closer, better.

Cheap, bright, and eaten by almost everything that swims in stillwater. One of the best 'I've only got this' baits in British coarse fishing.
A starting point, not a shopping list you have to finish. Match the water in front of you.
10–12ft feeder, 4000 reel, 5–8lb, a feeder or lead that suits the swim.
On the peg
Every cast is a feed. A bigger cage, fewer wasted chucks. Build a bed, then sit.
12–13ft, 40–60g rocket or cage, shockleader where needed, 60–80cm hooklength, a clip you can hit.
A plateau, a bar, open water at range. Not other people's water.
On the deck at the clip. Maggot, worm, corn over groundbait.
Find a range you can actually hit, not a range that sounds good. Then put a bed in.
A wind you can still cast in. Big side winds make distance a lottery.
Clip, power, follow through, hit the clip. Build a bed. Sit. If you cannot land it on a dinner plate, come closer until you can.
Starting routine
0–10 min
Get a bait in the water on the line you intend to fish. Do not search the whole venue in ten minutes.
10–30 min
Every cast is a feed. A bigger cage, fewer wasted chucks. Build a bed, then sit.
30–60 min
If nothing, change one thing — depth, bait or spot — not three. Read the troubleshooting on this page.
The same as cage feeder, at the end of more line. A drop-back can be a fish moving the feeder toward you.
A long lift to pick up the stretch.
Net anything with size or spines. Wet hands, unhook, return. A photograph is optional; the fish in the water is not.
Casting 80 yards into a random lake. No clip. A 10ft bomb rod and a 60g feeder.
Crack-offs: too much load, or no leader. Wide of the clip: practise, or come closer. Nothing: you are not on them.
Beginner setup
Learn a 30-yard cage first. Then a 40g rocket, a 12ft rod, maggot, a range you can hit.
More advanced
Change depth, bait or feed before you change peg.
